The Add property option does not add a property to vriable

I am trying to create a repeat list and input data into the same using a list of objects.
However, the add new property (plus symbol ) option does not add a new property to the variable.

Hey just found the cause of the problem (one might consider it to be a silly bug or a feature lol )
i intended to add a 'name' to the fruit object.
as it turns out , composer only accepts 'name' as an input , i typed 'name ' into the add variable field.
The extra space that i added caused the feature to not work correctly.
It does not tolerate spaces at all ( had to put in 'manufacturing_date' instead of 'manufacturing date'

@Monika Noronha : Thank you! It is a feature, but there should be an indicator that "this is wrong please fix" @paperplanecommunity . Can you confirm if this is the issue?

Yo Kristian , it Doesn't work on both chrome and firefox. Using the enter key does not work either.
Just noticed something , when i hover the cursor over the property name it says "please match the requested format".
Am i doing something wrong ?
